List of villages in Newton, Massachusetts. The City of Newton, Massachusetts consists of thirteen officially recognized villages. Like most Massachusetts villages, the villages of Newton do not have any legal representation, and exist mostly for cultural reasons.

When I moved to Newton, I was given a City-produced booklet (2) which enumerated 14 villages, however, Stephen Gartrell at the Planning Department says there are only 13 : Auburndale. Chestnut Hill. Lower Falls. Newton Centre. Newton Corner. Newton Highlands. Newtonville.
There are approved plans for a massive 23-acre, 14 building development in Newton Upper Falls but there has been little information about this development since March 2022. Northland Newton Development (NND) would add 140 affordable units to this village, on top of 180,000SF of office space and 115,000SF retail space.
