The United States Code (formally the Code of Laws of the United States of America) is the official codification of the general and permanent federal statutes of the United States. It contains 53 titles (Titles 1–54, excepting Title 53, which is reserved for a proposed title on small business ).
The U.S. Code is prepared by the Office of Law Revision Counsel, U.S. House of Representatives, and published by the Government Printing Office. The Code is published every six years. To bring the Code up to date, you must use annual supplements.
The U.S. Code was first published in 1926. The next main edition was published in 1934, and subsequent main editions have been published every six years since 1934. In between editions, annual cumulative supplements are published in order to present the most current information.
