History. The village of Huntingdon Valley is located along Huntingdon Pike (Pennsylvania Route 232). The Lady Washington Inn was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The inn is believed to have held first lady, Martha Washington while George Washington was at Valley Forge.

The Huntingdon Valley Library dates back to 1871. It was located on Huntingdon Pike near the present Gulf Station. The second library was formed in 1919 by the Community Club. All the volumes were donated. The Community Club ran fund raising movies and minstrel shows to keep the library going.
The Huntingdon County History & Heritage Roundtable consists of representatives from local historical organizations. Our group is interested in sharing and preserving the history and heritage of Huntingdon County, PA established in 1787. The county seat for the area is known as Huntingdon.

History. The original inhabitants of Huntingdon and neighboring counties were the Susquehannock. Through a combination of ongoing war with other indigenous nations, such as the Haudenosaunee, disease brought by Europeans, and violence from settlers, the Susquehannock are currently thought to have been entirely wiped out or subsumed by other tribes.
