Huntsville State Park is a 2,083.2-acre (843 ha) wooded recreational area, six miles (10 km) southwest of Huntsville, Texas, within Walker County and the Sam Houston National Forest.
The heavily-wooded park, dominated by loblolly and shortleaf pines typical of the East Texas Pine Belt, provides attractive camping and picnic areas and encloses the 210-acre Lake Raven. Lake Raven, fed by three major creeks, offers fishing for crappie, perch, catfish, and bass.
