Hwarang (Korean: 화랑, Japanese: ファラン) is a South Korean rapper and lyricist under Yue Hua Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group TEMPEST and a former member of the pre-debut boy group DSP N.
2018–2019: Under Nineteen
Hwarang (then known as Song Jae Won) was introduced as a contestant of the survival show Under Nineteen on October 25, 2018, as part of the performance team. He was eliminated in episode 12 after placing 11th in the performance team and 32nd overall.
2020: DSP N
Hwarang was introduced as a member of pre-debut group DSP N under DSP Media. He left the group sometime in 2020.
2022: Debut with TEMPEST
Hwarang was introduced as the third member of TEMPEST on January 3, 2022 through their Twitter official profile. They debuted on March 2, 2022 with the mini album It's Me, It's We.
