The average rescued Newfoundland is approximately 2 years old. It is on a rare occasion that we receive a Newfoundland puppy in rescue. We endeavor to place each Newfoundland in a permanent home that best suits the dog's needs. Puppies will be placed with experienced Newfoundland dog owners.
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for Newfoundlands in need in Florida. We are a foster-based system averaging 18 Newfoundlands per year. Relinquished dogs spend time with vetted fosters to assess temperament, behavior, and health.
As part of our commitment to the breed, NEWFFLA operates a rescue and placement network that is dedicated to giving purebred Newfoundland's a second chance. The mission of our rescue is to find the best forever home possible for all Newfs who find their way into rescue.
