In taxonomy, the term incertae sedis (abbreviated inc. sed.) is used for a taxon when its broader relationship to other taxa is unknown. The first person who used the term in botany was probably Antoine-Laurent de Jussieu .
11.2.2 Description. Head. The head is relatively large, wider than long, and covered with scalelike setae (Fig. 11.2). The labrum is 0.7 mm in length, with long setae on most of its surface, including along the anterior margin, which is widely concave at the middle and not flattened ventrally. The clypeus is bare.
