   How was 'invaders from Mars' filmed?

   • Invaders from Mars was shot on 35mm film using spherical lenses by cinematographer John Seitz. However, restoration supervisor Scott MacQueen faced challenges when the SuperCinecolor process did not result in correct coloring. With no two prints alike, MacQueen had to use original negatives as a baseline for the new color grade.

   Invaders From Mars is one of the best science fiction movies of the 1950's. I have seen this several times and never tire of it. A haunting atmosphere throughout and a good musical score keep it going. It is shot in glorious colour and the special effects are pretty good despite the low budget.
