This site provides free access to Iowa geographic map data through online map viewers and web map services. The site was developed by the Iowa State University Geographic Information Systems Support and Research Facility in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
ISU Landscape Maps. The Planning Services division of FPM maintains the Campus Landscape Maps and a Campus Plant Inventory of the plantings on Iowa State University's campus. The maps and inventory are provided here for those interested in the plant collections on campus.
History. In 1892, the Hub was built to fulfill the need for a college bookstore, post office, and waiting room for the Ames and College Railway, which had started a year previous. It was commonly called the "Dinkey Station" during the years it served as a depot for the steam railway that ran between downtown Ames and Iowa State College.
