I liked Beyond the Boundary though it is a lesser work from KyoAni. I think it would have done better as a 24 episode series rather than 12. In addition the author was sort of a flake and lost interest in it early on and abandoned the story shortly after the anime ran.

One of my favorite anime. The characters are cute and well developed, the plot is really good, and the movie does a good job of expanding on the ending
