ME1 is actually pretty basic, it's the second one that sucks balls. Even with a guide, dealing with the shadow things constantly attacking you and closing interfaces while you're trying to do the light puzzle is awful.

I agree that the mid level one should be shatter, but how about "immolate undead" for the strongest one? It kind of mirrors a respectful "cremation" but with more violence and hatred for the undead. Plus it can ask for Earth and fire runes instead, giving a niche use for the lava staff.
Crumble Undead is a good way to train magic, as it costs fewer runes than Earth Bolt (same if you are wielding a staff of earth) and hits as hard as Earth Blast. However, this spell cannot be autocasted except with a Slayer Staff, Staff of the dead, Staff of light or Void knight mace .
Requiring only 39 Magic, it's capable of hitting 16 against undead enemies such as zombies, skeletons, ghosts, shades, and so on. It can only be used against undead creatures, but offers a max hit equal to that of much higher level blast spells.
