As for rut activity I believe it is spotty throughout all of January in Arizona. In my experience, Just moving to different parts of a unit you’ll may discover some deer showing rut activity while others aren’t. Good luck

That thin patch of woods could be hinge cut to funnel the deer through a 10 yard gap. Put a stand just to the east of that gap and kill your rut buck.
