Star Trek: The Next Generation (TV debut: Sep 28, 1987), often abbreviated as TNG, depicts the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the starship USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D. It is set in the year 2364, 100 years after the “five-year mission” (from the original series).
