River Country is the second Disney park to permanently close. The first was Discovery Island which was located parallel to the water park. Both parks closed permanently within two years of each other, and were originally abandoned instead of demolished.

Although it is no longer open to the public, River Country holds a special place in the hearts of many Disney fans.
