      • John Wayne starrer Island in the Sky, ostensibly a disaster film, doesn't have a lot of what has come to be associated with the genre, since it plays more like the granddaddy of the type. There's no all-star ensemble cast getting picked off one-by-one, and there's not even a visceral opening disaster.
