I really like that you as a viewer really are inside the protagonist’s mind and are just as confused. The paranoia and hallucinations gets under your skin. The cast is fantastic and I love the late 80s New York vibe.

Apr 22, 2024 · I watched it first around 1999-2000, when it was still in the “cult favorite” phase and liked it, but I think some of the shine has been taken off it as more movies use similar big reveals at the end. If everyone does a big reveal like that, no big reveal is as shocking and impactful anymore.

I stopped watching movies a couple of years ago when new scripts and acting started getting noticeably cringe. I was reading a trip report about a deliriant mk801 my friend mentioned and the movie was mentioned.
Apr 22, 2024 · The idea of Yuri being a spy in the Pentagon was floated, but the impression was given that it was a smokescreen for the coverup of the dead woman. What? That makes it better. They had legit info on a mole and used it to hide the real murderer, which put the mole in real danger. Loved that twist.
