Brief Life History of Jadwiga. When Jadwiga of Kalisz was born in 1266, in Kalisz, Wielkopolskie, Poland, her father, Boleslaw the Pious Duke of Greater Poland, was 41 and her mother, Yolanda of Poland, was 32. She married Wladyslaw "the Short" Lokietek I King of Poland on 6 January 1293.
