Jan 18, 2018 · I was fortunate enough to own a slope shoulder dread that Jake built for me a few years ago, but as old age and an old motocross shoulder injury would have it, I had to sell it as I could no longer play it comfortably. This beautiful guitar was custom-made by Jake Robinson Guitars. It is a Grand Auditorium with a Sitka spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back, sides and binding. The guitar has an ebony fretboard bridge and peghead overlay. Scale length is 25.5". Comes with a case. Jake estimated that he would charge $10k to build this guitar today.
This Grand Auditorium from Jake Robinson is spectacular. It reminds us of the some of our other favorite luthiers such as Kathy Wingert, Kevin Ryan and Ervin Somogyi but Jake has his own voice. It’s alive and energetic with sound that seems to swell as is it dances off the German Spruce top that is chock full of medullary rays.
