    Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S. Mitchell Ryan (born January 11, 1934) played Burke Devlin in the original Dark Shadows. Ryan was fired from the show in 1967 because of his alcoholismand was replaced by Anthony George. He later conquered the disease and is still an active performer, especially on television.
