Balloon Dog is a series of sculptures by the American artist Jeff Koons. There are different versions of this sculpture, made between 1994 and 2000, with each having a different color: blue, magenta, yellow, orange and red.

Mar 12, 2024 · Accidents and Baloon Dogs: the value and vulnerability of contemporary sculptures. In 2019, a balloon dog sculpture by Jeff Koons was accidentally destroyed during an exhibition at a museum in Germany. The incident occurred when a child tripped and inadvertently punctured a hole in the artwork.

Jun 28, 1996 · Using the recognizable form of a balloon twisted into the shape of a dog, Koons has frozen a moment in time, exaggerating both scale and material. Balloon Dog (Blue) is literal and abstract. When standing close to it, one’s own distorted reflection bends around smooth pert curves.
