  1. I may have found a solution, it worked for me. open up "settings" - then click on "apps" - scroll down and find microsoft photos, click on it - then click on "advanced options" - scroll down and click on "repair". Now my photos are once again displaying full screen no borders.

  3. Apr 19, 2022 · Some pictures in photos don't go full screen. I double click on a picture to have it fill the window and then arrow through more pictures, and each one fills the window, as well. But recently (months?) a picture will only half fill the window.

I found out a way of getting a somewhat usable fullscreen mode with the Windows 10 Photo viewing app: Open a photo with the app from within a directory full of photos (you would have guessed that one already).
