Mar 22, 2022 · The Estate of Suzanne Bardzell (the “Estate”) brings state-created danger claims against Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Jessica Gomperts, among others, arising from Suzanne Bardzell’s murder by her domestic abuser. Because Gomperts’ alleged actions were all prosecutorial in nature, she is entitled to absolute prosecutorial immunity.
Jessica A. Gomperts has served as an Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor since September 2000. During her tenure, she has worked in the Appellate, Juvenile, Grand Jury, and Trial Sections of the office. Since January 2011, she is assigned to the Domestic Violence Squad, where she has served as its Chief since March 2013.
