Jill Viola Gascoine (11 April 1937 – 28 April 2020) was an English actress and novelist. She portrayed Detective Inspector Maggie Forbes in the 1980s television series The Gentle Touch and its spin-off series C.A.T.S. Eyes. In the 1990s, she also became a novelist and published three books.
She died on April 23, 2020 in Los Angeles, two weeks after her 83rd birthday. Originated the matriarchal role of "Mary" in Colette Freedman 's play, "Sister Cities". Daughter of Francis (1907-1995) & Irene (née Greenwood) Gascoine (1910-1956).

Actress: BASEketball. Jill Viola Gascoine was born in Lambeth, London, on April 11 1937. She was educated at Tiffin's Girls School (by her own account, a traumatic experience) and later studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts in London.
