I think it's neat. Jim Green themselves have a few videos of boots over a decade old that they just slap new soles onto. you choose wrong size, (too big or too small - sometimes insoles help a lot) in my opinion. i have couple of pairs in rough out and JG Vellies as well almost two years.

I'm use to break in periods of several weeks. These are gonna take a few days, but they seems to be pretty well made and fit darn good in my big ol fat foot.
