During the very early days of Roblox, both accounts were used by administrators as NPCs. The NPCs were functional by being able to communicate with others. John Doe was last online on September 8, 2017, at around 10:09 AM, while Jane Doe was last online on September 7, 2017, at around 8:11 PM (both according to Alexrocks911's Check A User's Last Online Information game). Before their last appearance online, John Doe was last online on March 18, 2016 while Jane Doe was last online on December 4, 2015. A YouTuber named BADGRAPHIX also created a video explaining why John Doe was able to follow him. Like with the player badges, a bug in the Roblox web client allowed playersto become friends with another player without them mutually agreeing to friendship (this bug has now been patched). In around February 2017, several Robloxians such as Kazok, Equillex and more started a rumor saying that John Doe and Jane Doe would hack Roblox on March 18, and this rumor was frequently mentioned in some clickbait videos, which caused massive panic all over the game and site itself. It turned out to be false later. Roblox then had to expl...
