Apr 25, 2024 · A 1,000-foot section of the John Muir Trail is facing a longer road to reopening this year after hundreds of boulders and trees became dislodged from above the trail. According to Yosemite National Park officials, the rockfall took place at 11:23 pm on April 15 between Clark Point and the top of Nevada Falls.

The large rockfall occurred on April 15, obstructing the trail between Clark Point and the top of Nevada Fall, a 600-foot high waterfall on the Merced River in the park.
