John Hoyt (born John McArthur Hoysradt; October 5, 1905 – September 15, 1991) was an American actor. He began his acting career on Broadway, later appearing in numerous films and television series.

Sep 21, 1991 · John Hoyt, an actor who appeared on stage, on television and in films, died on Sunday at his home in Santa Cruz, Calif. He was 86 years old. He died of of cancer, his family said.
John Hoyt. Actor: Carlito's Way. John studied liberal arts at Lehman College and attended acting classes at Carnegie Hall. His teacher, Robert X. Modica, also taught John Turturro, David Duchovny and Rachel Ward. John received his first acting job because of Robert De Niro, who cast him in the film A Bronx Tale.
He is perhaps best known for his roles in the films The Lawless (1950), When Worlds Collide (1951), Julius Caesar (1953), Blackboard Jungle (1955), Spartacus (1960), Cleopatra (1963), Flesh Gordon (1974) and the television series Gimme a Break! (1981-87). John Hoyt was an American actor.
