I am looking at a savage 29A for sale that appears to be in very good condition for it's age, but after much research there are a few things that puzzle me. So here is what I can tell you about the rifle thus far. Receiver and barrel are both marked Savage 29A Barrel is octagon. Take down model.

Aug 30, 2018 · #1 · Aug 30, 2018. Got my first Savage Rimfire coming to me soon. Just won it on GB and it is reported to be in 'superb condition' so I'm really looking forward to it. It has the octagon barrel and marked 29-A on the receiver. Photos look good to me. I really prefer the older 22's so decide to get one if it's calling my name.
