OPINION ¶1 ¶2 I. INTRODUCTION This appeal concerns the estate of decedent, John W. McDonald III. Decedent died intestate on December 11, 2017. Four days later, petitioner, Shawn McDonald (Shawn), decedent’s brother, filed in the circuit court of Kane County a petition for letters of administration and an affidavit of heirship.
