WHAT JOHN WILLIAMS PLAYS [1999]: John Williams owns two guitars built by Australian luthier Greg Smallman: a 1992 and a 1995. His Smallmans feature an extremely thin cedar top reinforced with a unique lattice bracing of carbon fiber strands. An early prototype had a top made of balsa wood.
