Aug 25, 2022 · A consonant blend, also known as a consonant cluster, is a series of consonants that appear together before or after a vowel in a word. In a blend, each letter retains its own sound. For example in the word frog you can hear both the /f/ and /r/ sounds. These individual sounds are called phonemes, and make up all the sounds in the English language.
