  1. Jul 4, 2022 · Results. Analysis of up to 23,598 students attending 2,579 schools revealed interactions between school and ADHD effects on achievement. The variability between schools in the effects of inattention, hyperactivity and within‐family ADHDPGS on achievement was 0.08, 0.07 and 0.05 SDs, respectively.

The strength of these associations suggest that ADHD medication may play a role in improving school performance in students with ADHD, but other educational interventions are likely needed to bridge the substantial school performance gap between students affected by ADHD and their unaffected peers.
