    Evans received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her J.D.from Duke University School of Law in 1976.

    Evans began her career as an attorney with the law firm of Ferguson, Stein, Chambers and then with the Children's Law Center. She then spent 10 years as a judge of the 26th Judicial Districtbefore she was promoted to the Superior Court in 2003.
