Jungle Rot is an American death metal band from Kenosha, Wisconsin, formed in 1992. History. Jungle Rot was founded in 1992 as a side project by Jim Harte and Joe Thomas, members of the Illinois thrash metal act, Prisoner. The band's name refers to jungle rot, an infection of the skin that occurs in tropical climates.

Slaughter the Weak is the second studio album by American death metal band Jungle Rot, released through Pulverizer Records in 1997. In 1998, it was reissued by Pavement Music with the bonus track "Darkness Foretold", and was reissued again in 2002 by Crash Music, Inc., with the same bonus track.

Overall, Slaughter the Weak is the best Jungle Rot album. It's the most simple, blunt and no-nonsense offering of their warring Neanderthal style of death metal. It's a metal classic and should be heard by all death metal fans.
