The prodigal mage was somewhat subpar in that it continues a storyline that is worn out and not much happens for most of the novel. On the other hand, it is finely crafted and the ending makes it all flow together.

Basically, this is book three! The story picks up 10 years after book two as we meet Asher's children and learn that the Kingdom of Lur is in trouble again.
