Description. Rappo, Carl. Herr Karl Rapp und fein achtjähriger Sohn…. [Np], 1836. Broadside (535 x 440 mm). Numerous fonts, text in German, large woodcut at top featuring a tryptic of acrobatic performances; old folds, offsetting. Mounted, framed, and glazed; not examined out of frame.
Raupp, who considered himself a plein air painter, would take study trips to the country with his students in order to paint nature as close to reality as possible. It is during one of these trips that he visited the Chiemsee for the first time; an experience which would shape his oeuvre.
