The Kaunas State Choir is a professional choir based in Kaunas, Lithuania, founded in October 1969 by professor of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Petras Bingelis. The choir is noted for its collaboration with violinist and conductor Yehudi Menuhin .
The Kaunas State Choir has held more than 3000 performances in Lithuania and far beyond its borders. More than 75 thousands of auditors listened to the cantata „Carmina Burana“ by Carl Orff that the choir performed in the Berlin Stadium; G. F. Händel’s oratorio ”Messiah“ was performed by the choir as many as 80 times.

The Kaunas State Choir came into being in October 1969. Led by Professor Petras Bingelis, a winner of the Lithuanian National Prize, the choir went forward step by step, actively and determinedly, from small pieces, folk songs, and compositions by Lithuanian composers and occasional ones to the first performance of Mozart's Requiem in 1971.
