Kazembe Ajamu Coleman (born: Samuel David Coleman) is known for being Zendaya's father, bodyguard and manager. He is of African-American descent, and changed his name to a Yoruba name after learning he had Nigerian roots. He was married to Claire Maree Stoermer, Zendaya's mother.
Colemans parents were from Arkansas and they wed at fourteen. Coleman was later born to them in 1960. Yahoo News states "His ancestral heritage shows that he is from Nigeria, Macedonia, and Iceland, and is a descendant of sharecroppers."
Coleman has five children from a previous marriage, three girls; Katianna "Kizzi", Annabella and Kaylee, and two boys; Austin and Julien "EZ". After his divorce to his first wife, he began a relationship with Stoermer in 1996, resulting in Zendaya being born in the same year, as his youngest and only child born to them.
After eight years of marriage, it was announced that Coleman and his wife Claire had gone their separate ways in 2016- although from a post on Zendaya's instagram page regarding the news she stated that her parents had already been separated for quite some time. Although they lead very private lives, they continually support Zendaya through accompanying her to events and supporting her on sets.
The total number grandchildren Coleman has is unknown, but it may be above six or seven. From this picture Zendaya shared on her Instagram in 2016, seven children can be seen, however in the following years the family may have expanded, and there were family members who were likely not in the picture. Coleman's eldest son Julian has three children with his wife Sonja, the eldest being Ezenia nicknamed "Zink", who is close in age with Zendaya and the two are reportedly very close with each other. Another of his children who is known to have children themselves is Katiana. She lives in Oakland with her husband and two teenage daughters Imani and Isys.
According to People Magazine, Coleman has worked as a manager for his daughter Zendaya in recent years.
He has his own Facebook and Instagram account, of which he is the manager.
