Faber is the 33rd Ohio state auditor. He was first elected on November 6, 2018.

Faber is a former Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 84from 2016 to 2018. Faber also served in the state House from 2001 to 2006. Faber represented District 12 in the Ohio State Senate from his appointment in January 2007 to 2016. He served as president of the Senatefrom 2013 to 2017.
