Kenneth Lonergan (born October 16, 1962) is an American film director, playwright, and screenwriter. He is the co-writer of the film Gangs of New York (2002), and wrote and directed You Can Count On Me (2000), Margaret (2011), and Manchester by the Sea (2016).

First published in 1999, “This Is Our Youth” is a play by Kenneth Lonergan. Set in 1982, the play is a dark comedy that tells the story of three troubled young adults--Dennis, Warren, and Jessica. When Warren steals $15,000 from his father, Dennis spends some on drugs, and Warren uses it to take Jessica to an expensive hotel.
