She was nominated by President Joe Biden (D) on February 28, 2022, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on April 7, 2022, by a vote of 53-47. Jackson received her judicial commission on April 8, 2022, and was sworn in as an associate justice of the court on June 30, 2022.
