Fast foward to 2011, Jungle Rot is back with a new record, “Kill On Command”, and a new label in Victory Records. “Kill On Command” is the type of record that stands tall on it’s own, not to mention it’s filled with ten tracks of kick ass brutality.
Jul 25, 2011 · I still like these guys but this album is a misstep IMHO. They crossed too far over into “modern” death metal and lost the rawness and heaviness along the way. There are still a few solid and enjoyable Jungle Rot tunes scattered through Kill on Command but overall this is a let down from their past war metal classics. If you like the modern ...
Oh, you want quintessential Jungle Rot? How about the rolling tank-column groove of the title track? Yes indeed, it’s a tough little bastard. Finally, the gang shouts from Sgt. Rot’s Hate Chorale on several cuts are smartly incorporated to ensure maximum impact.
True, Jungle Rot have never been the smartest band in death metal, but Kill on Command is completely devoid of brain cells: a night of binge drinking has produced more intellectual results. Take the absolutely stunning lyrical prowess of "I Predict a Riot": "bodies flailing round, human flesh surrounds. abyss, torture bound, beaten to the ground.
