Kirk M. Acevedo (born November 27, 1971) is an American actor. He is primarily known for his work on television for the portrayals of Miguel Alvarez in the HBO series Oz, Joe Toye in Band of Brothers, and FBI Agent Charlie Francis in the science-fiction series Fringe.
- Alvarez is sent to Oz for beating up a 75 year old man for scratching up his car. Alvarez arrives and is stabbed in the receiving and discharge area.
- Alvarez is one of the Latino inmates let back into the newly built Em City. In this season, the Latinos are looking to move up in rank and are not sure whether or not to work with the Italian or Homeboy gangs in the drug trade.
- In solitary, Alvarez is being reduced to drinking his own urine to survive. This is because the COs "forget" to feed him regularly since he blinded Eugene Rivera.
- Inside of solitary, Alvarez is harassed by an inmate, Louis Bevilaqua over the death of Carlo Ricardo. Alvarez now reveals that he knows it was Bevilaqua who raped Glynn's daughter.
After guest-starring on several television shows like New York Undercover (1994) and Law & Order (1990), he landed his best-known role as Alvarez, a morose and violent prisoner struggling for redemption on HBO's notoriously gritty Oz (1997).
