- Walk the Malecon. The maleconor boardwalks along any of the village waterfronts are full of life, lovers, color and good things to eat. Chapala has a lovely malecon with tiendas or little shops selling their wares, as well as people pushing carts with homemade ice cream, fresh cocos(coconuts) they will crack open with machetes for you.
