Lakeport State Park is a public recreation area on the shores of Lake Huron in St. Clair County, Michigan. The state park consists of two units on either side of the community of Lakeport within Burtchville Township. Two campgrounds, beachfront, and camp store are on the north side, and a picnic area and beachfront are on the south side.
I-94 E. to M-25 N. 15 miles N. entrance on the E. side of M-25. Lying along Lake Huron, Lakeport State Park provides southeast Michigan residents access to the Great Lakes. The park has two distinct units separated by the village of Lakeport. A total of 250 sites are divided between the two campgrounds.

Feb 7, 2024 · Lakeport State Park is, in my opinion, the best beach for rock hunting within about an hour of Detroit. Located about 10 miles north of Port Huron, Lakeport offers a little over a mile of Lake Huron's shoreline, most of which has rocks. A perfect day trip away from Metro Detroit, we have spent many hours sitting along the beach at Lakeport.
If you're looking for a peaceful state park near the beach, this is NOT IT. This is a noisy, crowded, smokey RV park with no privacy. It would probably be fun if you were 10 years old, running wild with all the other kids and hanging out on the beach.
