Larry played football for Nebraska and Carol was the first woman from Nebraska to compete in the Olympics, throwing the discus at the 1968 Mexico City Games. She went on to coach Nebraska’s women’s cross country and track and field programs and will be inducted into the Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame later this year.
