I grew up in the UK to parents from Tabriz, and while they did their best to teach me Azeri, I couldn’t really pick it up I was too busy learning English and Farsi! So I started learning Azeri from the Azerbaijani republics dialect/language courses. It’s extremely similar to azeri on this side of the border.
For personal reasons, I wish to learn Azeri. I am actually very familiar with the language, as I have heard it spoken on a regular basis for the last 10 years. I understand words and some phrases - istiyam, najusuz, najusan, ficheliyam, etc. I wish to learn Azeri to a fluent level. I genuinely do, although it is hard though to find resources.
