May 28, 2019 · Lekë Dukagjini, son of Pal, was one of the central figures of medieval Albanian history before the Ottoman era. In Albanian folklore and local traditions, he is remembered as the author of the "Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini", the customary law of many northern Albanian regions.
Lekë Dukagjini. 1446–1479. Known for the Kanuni i Lekë Dukagjinit, a legal code observed in northern Albanian tribes, Lekë succeeded his father Pal II Dukagjini in 1446. His principality, stretching from Northern Albania into modern Kosovo, was a key player in the region.
