Apr 7, 2019 · Caron had a pivotal role in bringing her own film projects to fruition; one such role was Gigi. “That was my idea, actually. Fred [Astaire] visited me on the set of Lili. He disapproved of Lili and thought it would ruin my career… (it didn’t). So I came up with Gigi. I loved Colette’s writing very much.
