Dolgans (Russian: Долганы; Dolgan: Долган, Дулҕан Dulğan, Һака ; Yakut: тыа-киһи) are a Turkicized Tungusic ethnic group who mostly inhabit Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. They are descended from several groups, particularly Evenks , [2] one of the Indigenous peoples of the Russian North .

Dolgan, Turkic-speaking people constituting the basic population of the Taymyr autonomous okrug, which is far above the Arctic Circle in north-central Russia. They numbered about 6,000 in the late 20th century. The Dolgan migrated to the area from the southwest, presumably in the 18th century.

Traditional Dolgan beliefs held that death was caused by evil spirits who stole souls and carried them off to the underworld and then invaded a person's body and ate it.
